On Air – on the pitch –
on words with
Duygu Ağal

Berlin-Based, Veddel-Raised.

Duygu Ağal is a queer activist of the migrant diaspora, writer, and soccer player. The Berlin-based teacher training-student is an active member of the THF-Radio collective, which is part of Torhaus e.V. Berlin. There, she hosts her monthly show, last called “September Melankoli w / Daygen”.

In June, she curated the “Better For Your Life: Womxn Week” on THF Radio together with Derya Yıldırım. One of the main motivations for the week-long stream festival was the lack of representation of a more diverse display of the society within one’s own collective. Duygu & Derya decided to ask mainly FLINT * and BIPoC artists from various diasporas in order to create a one-week-long safe(r)-space in which the artists* can connect, exchange, share, and narrate their arts.

Her endeavor is to realize artistic and political exchange and to offer queer-migrant and intersectional discourses a platform on which communities can mutually strengthen & amplify each other.
